GIG

Jon took centre stage on the tres Cubano, as our pianist Pete pulled out with a serious heart condition just days before our appearance at the Cardiff Food and Drink Festival. Our set turned towards Buena Vista as Jon's twanging montunos filled the rhythmic and sonic space.

GIG

The band returned to Porters bar, Cardiff, with some premiere performances of Nick's new arrangements; including a drum solo feature based on the 'Caravan' arrangement used in the movie 'Whiplash', and a hard-edged timba version of 'Chan Chan', contrasting the harmony in diversity of the old lyrics with some new lyrics about the ICE abuses in the USA.

GIG

A successful experimental outing for the band, as we introduced some cumbia into the set as a special request from the gorgeous TellMeWine venue in Chepstow.

WEDDING

A really memorable day out near Salisbury, as we performed in two parts of the lovely couple's wedding day. In the afternoon sun, a four-piece version of the band played acoustic son, samba and bossa nova during canapes, and in the evening the full eight-piece played on the stage and filled the dancefloor. We even included a song that had been written and recorded in Ecuador by a musician relative of the couple.
